With recent updates I have a few problems with IMP3
1. Screen redraw performance on CGX 8bit screen is super slow when running in 16bit, it is nice and smooth Suspecting it has something to do with blinking colours ? Possibly the chosen method is not the best for RTG 2. Requesters, nobody has issues ? Sometimes they are very long, and don't fit the screen, even 1024 wide! Had to make a workaround with ReqAttack to put the buttons vertically so this is not going to work on a smaller setup 3. Problem with opening text files in Multiview Something does go on, but obviously also something is wrong too Anyway, MultiView does not open the file, nothing happens visually but Snoopy reports that there were some actions |

2. I need specific information about which requester, no one has reported anything like this, and by definition I try to make them short so that they can easily fit on 640 (maybe you have a huge font?) maybe you have old reqtools.library, you cen delete it from libs:, reboot amiga and start imp3 - imp3 will download a good one reqtools.library version 3. copy multiview to c: and try again Last edited by juen; 23 February 2024 at 19:21. |

1. This is best observed when solid window dragging is enabled also on real machine with CGX, the interrupt happens so hard that lets say your 'FPS' drops to 2 frames a second, while in 16+bits its smooth 2. The prefs requester is over 710 pixels wide with topaz/8 or similar fonts The mode selection is even bigger 3. This is not default location the OS has it, yes it will work if placed there but this is wrong. Maybe do a presearch where the binary is located typically in utilities, could be in tools or c (rare and why?), anything else is way of. |

Solid Windows should not be enabled, that is bad patch. There is no advantage to using a 16 bit screen instead of an 8 bit one in imp3
2. Did you updated reqtools as i said? 3. Just copy it for test to c: |

1. Yes and no, it's irrelevant, just the best case to see the problem Overall refresh of display is slow, like scopes, window rendering in 16+ it is nice and fast, since the colour regiser triger has no effect 2. Out of curiousily, you provide some ancient version, and yes, it does not help, it behaves exactly the same 3. It works from C, but this is not the point, it should not be there, there is a system default place for it |

@juen:
Maybe you could take a look at following error, please. I can crash my AmigaOS 4.1 FE Update 2 100% while doing this: 1. Play a short mod in IMP3 2. Keep pressing the right mouse button (open a menu). When the mod ends, my X5000 freezes. This is 100% reproducable on my system. My guess is that there is an issue when another process or component does a Forbid() or blocks the system using another method while the mod is changing/unloading. If I do not do anything while listening to mods, the system is rock stable. But even a beep while the mod is ending will freeze my system. Maybe the ptreplay library is the issue here, as it only happens while listening to mods. Thank you, Flynn |

I've left my impbox powered on for hours after shutting the A1200 down (forgot to disconnect the power source) more than once and no harm has been done. |

May I ask the opposite question ? Is it OK to keep the impbox connected to the Amiga but unpowered ?
