What new stuff is out for classic Amiga?
I don't know, but I'm really hoping for new stuff for my WinUAE. So, what's out there?

from what i can see, not much.
this aint like the 8 bit emu scene where you got loads of old skool talent making new stuff. ppl who used 8 bit machines seem more capable and motivated and ppl who used Amigas are mostly gamers who cant pull their finger out and create something. for me classic Amiga died with Commodore more than a decade ago and nothing ppl do these days will match what assembly pros did back then. not saying the art's been lost but where are the new apps then? not that i'm waiting i've got 100s of classic Amiga games to sort through. EDIT:- i forgot WHDLoad. very cool to play classic games with these installs that add trainers etc. |

the new apps are on the newer more powerful amigas. The amiga unlike the c64 did not stagnate on one model for ten years but actually became more powerful. So what kinda stuff do you want? IRC clients? Web Browsers? Instant messaging? Game ports and interpreters?, emulators? All the new stuff is on aminet.
You just need to pull your finger out and look. |

There's new stuff out all the time, sometimes it's brand spanking new and other times it's something that has been lost for 20 years and refound. Like THB has already asked, what sort of new stuff you looking for?

New stuff for your WinUAE. Third the what you looking for remark and the finger pull one always points to those who mention it first in my book. |

Games, interesting apps, funny hacks (From back when "Hack" meant "Quick program")...For A500, primarily, but no further forward than A4000. Stuff that was produced recently, for those platforms.
Thanks, CyberDruid. |

when i said ppl "can't pull their finger out" i only meant that relative to the guys doing stuff for the 8 bits. they're doing some amazing things compared to Amigans for a few reasons, one of which they're simply more industrious. please understand - this fact doesn't bother me. A question was posed and i answered it as i see things. if you see them differently, be my guest to go on living with that "perception". For me the Amiga is alive through the UAE emu and the ppl who use the original hardware with the classic games and software, and communicate on forums about it all. I don't yearn for change or a Turrican 2 or Deluxe Paint killer. I'm happy with those two and i have my peecee with Windon't for serious tasks (like modern gaming). however if you'll show me any new games that are programmed in assembly and are akin to my old classics, i'll glady eat my words - but still ignore them as they're not for reliving memories. have fun with your dreams and try not to project your bitchiness onto others. |

Would you mind pointing out some of these "amazing things" the 8 bit guys are doing?

That's a great example of how great the Amiga community is right there, over 15000 posts of useful and helpful information. I bet there isn't an 8 bit guy who could say that.
