You can. Del. and PageDown to rotate. Home and End to "zoom" in and out (depends on the weapons. LR rifle for instance shows a lot of difference).

You can also edit those in one of the Options screens.
There is also a key (I think B or V) that when hold can hide buildings and therefore you can see you agents behind them.

I guess I should have posted instead in Games you never understood to play (the right way).

This is supernew to me! I am now going to find this vital information in the manual
EDIT: there is no clue about this in the original Syndicate manual. Are you really sure, lilalurl?

Yes, this is one of the primary reasons that they changed from isometric to polygonal so that they could do the rotating, zooming etc.

I think this has been solved already many many years before by Ultimate Play the Game. Look at Gunfright... when you are behind the building, it becomes transparent. Absolutelly elegant

I always wondered why they couldn't just rotate in 90 degree increments, it's still isometric!

This thread being about Syndicate Wars, I didn't pay attention to the "original" part of "The original game" in grelbfarlk's post.

So my posts were all about Syndicate Wars (and not the original Syndicate). But don't blame me or I will ban you for getting the thread off-topic .

The Jaguar version did have a zoom in / out, but didn't have rotation.

Syndicate is a fantastic game though, but of course that is native on the Amiga, which is why I started this thread about Syndicate Wars, which was a DOS game that didn't use 3D acceleration, but was software 3D.

Guess I could try it through DOSBox on PPC, see how it performs. I'm betting a 68060@50mhz isn't going to cut it.
