Demobase Amiga Demos not working(ok)

Hi Fellas,

I want to ask for your help on these NOT working demos....


I will give you 1 page at a time,plz take a look at these names and tell me
if you can get them to work and how plz.

After checking i have got the following demos to WORK !

Another compacting > Abandon

Forbidden Planet 28 > Absolute
Dos4gw > Abyss
A New Masterpiece Of Coding Work > Accession
Compilation 23 > Acme Factories
Grave Diving 1 >Activas

Seems that Winuae(or me) have improved.
This is what i have done for today.

I hope you can find more demos working

I don't understand your report. There's snapshot on Kestra for most of those. What do you mean by "not working", as, obviously, it worked for some people.

Hi Asle,

These demos are NOT working With Winuae atm.
Plz check if they do work and what kind of config you are using.
Maybe i have a bad disk so plz check if you can get these demos to work.

Maybe i have done the configuration wrong or something,or there is no
good disk at the moment.

For some demos i need setpatch or Explode lib v4 to get them working.
Some demos have read/write errors,need another image.

HD demos do not work in Winuae(within Gamebase i mean),i hope in the
near future someone can help me implement WHD demos just like in
Gamebase Amiga.

Please, note that the aforementioned configs are probably not the only ones that would work. Just listed those as that worked for me (WinUAE 2.2.0), while updating Kestra.

Note that the "adv. chipset" window is always left alone, here (so, compatible settings is always set)

Family Business(abyss) > Still not working

Think Pink(abyss) > still not working,exe is too big to run in Winuae

I misunderstood then. Why don't you report the demos that don't work individually instead of the pack in which they could be ?

I don't understand this. Are you running this from disk ? This demo was run succesfully , on my side, from HD.

I told you that HD is not working (yet) via Gamebase Asle.

So dont bother with HD files(or exe bigger than 800k).

About Abortive Stigma2> The menu is loading but the demos dont load.
so the whole pack is not working.

It was missing an external file, expected on DF0:. I've reset the Kestra entry.
You can grab the ADF I've made for it there.

Any OCS/ECS config will do afterwards.
EDIT : A500 default config OK

Just saying that it is really bad idea to try "random" configurations until something works, especially with demos.. (at least demos released before 1995 or so..)

well, it's not really random. I have only 4 configs with which I'm using WinUAE. However, they are not the "default" ones, agreed. I guess you'd prefer those. I'll try to do that, OK.
