The Final Battle - German version

(I really tried to search if this has been mentioned already, but couldn't find anything)
It seems the preinstalled version is dodgy. I'm not even sure if there is a complete German version, as I can't find an ADF or IPF of it. Have a look :

The room title and the description are in German, but then everything else is in English (haven't checked the next rooms yet). Anything known about this version? I see that 'Christian Sauer' supplied the version for the WHDLoad slave to Bored Seal, so if he's a member here, would be nice if he could PM me
Any hints about what's going on here are appreciated

Edit :
There's also an ADF version with same 'phenomenon' in French :

I don't get it

I think this IS the German version. It looks like a rushed translation, with a lot of untranslated English text left. Read the Power Play review.

Hmm, I checked the data file aswell and after that first introductory text only the room 'captions' seem to be translated. Maybe that 'French' version is official then as well. Strange stuff. Thanks for the info and link Retro

Based on the French screenshot, the rushed translation hypothesis could be valid:

The first three words don't make sense. "Ground" which has no meaning in French, is in the middle of "apparament" (which means apparently).

The second sentence makes sense.

As you can see, all three versions use different font/title bar 'button' combinations. Doesn't really make sense. If you have some spare minutes lilalurl, I could send you the disk, so that you could have a look yourself

Is it as bad as the Amiga version? Could you take two screenshots from the ST version (title and ingame) and if you have any info about the French Amiga version, please share

I guess the ST version is similar. Check the German ST version Power Play review i've linked above.

Yep, I know Just needs some proof for HOL you see, before we can add French as a language (even if it's a bit far fetched to call it that here ).

Okay, STX version is confirmed by lilalurl to be the same, so the French version is also genuine. I PMed Bored Seal about it and let's see if he'll adjust the slave to use the French data files
