Now THERE'S a good business plan!
Step 1: acquire rights to Amiga custom chipset
Step 2: make a deal with chinese sweatshop of your choice
Step 3: Roll out the Amiga 1200 clones!

I would second that.

It would be interesting in finding out how much it would cost to buy the rights to the custom chips & KS3.1.

I reckon it can't be more than $100,000 considering how much little money there is to be made with it all and how old and technically unimpressive it is these days.

500 EAB members, $200 each - wE cUlD 0wN tH3 Am1G4 !!

Here is some food for thought, I work for a company (heck give me a couple of years and I will own part of it) and we have a manufacturing plant in China, we make printer cartridges so we have all the equipment to mould plastic, build circuits etc

The name seems to be the only thing worth anything these days... & even that probably isn't worth much any more...

Your much better off taking that $200 and buying an expanded A1200 on ebay. It takes alot of money to build a small batch of a1200's these days.

It wasn't for the building. It was just Ithought it would be quite cool/funny if we owned the Amiga.

We could have downloads for KS roms right on the front page of abime.net !

Nothing cool or funny about a large groups spending $100K or more for something they all have already or can get for free. Why not have the world pay me $1,000,000,000,000,000 for the rights to breath air, its about as useless and stupid as wasting money on Amiga patents your not going to do anything with.

Weren't they still building C64's in the late 90's, for Eastern Europe?
Maybe they'd all like to upgrade to Amigas now
