program to reboot the amiga
Hi,
I'm looking for a program to reboot the amiga "reboot" is not working. It crashes my miggy. tude hardreset works, but kills statram.device and I'd like to keep it. What I'd need is the exact emulation of the reset/ctrl-A-A action |

I've got a program called "reset". You want to try that?

Yeah, but he said "reboot" crashes for some reason. I put "reset" in the Zone.

Why people want to replace the good old key combination "Ctrl - Amiga - Amiga" is beyond me !!

He doesn't want to replace it, he probably wants to reboot the machine from software without displaying the message "reboot your machine now".
Maybe to load something up that needs a lot of chipram or something. |

I use a program to reboot because Ctrl-Amiga-Amiga doesn't work on my keyboard anymore. |

The solution for an autoboot is ATM load WB in PAL, set a file in SD0:, and reboot by hand after a while. I'd like to automation it a little more by using a script which would WAIT 30 then REBOOT/RESET. Next time it boots, it detects the file in SD0 and boots using the gfx board. That's it. |

Dose exec.library/ColdReboot() not work ?
Is a reboot really necessary? If you can use Screenmode to set a gfx board mode after booting in PAL saving a scrennmode configuration in a file and a few lines like wait x copy sys:Prefs/Presets/ScreenMode_RTG ENV:Sys/screenmode.prefs placed between loadwb and endcli in startup-sequence or in a script in WBStartup should work. |

Hmm, I've made a boot utility that detects "Fake NTSC" mode and resets until true PAL is detected. Would that do it for you? You'd need a boot floppy (or you could install it on the hard drive manually, at your risk )

my amiga have this kind of problem (freeze just when switching to gfx card mode) and annoyed me lots of months and the problem has been resolved when changing my tower to a dbox one. I think in my old micronik1 plastic tower have an electric problem between the power supply and the motherboard (the power supply of the micronik has been electric tested good). not a good answer of the main subject on the thread but maybe could give ideas |
