Turrican II A570 Problem.....

Any idea why the CDTV version of Turrican II works ok on my CDTV but won't load on my A570 ?

The A570 is connected to my A500+ which has Kickstart 2.0 & 1Mb Chip Ram.

I had trouble myself with A570 on A500+, on A500 all worked fine though ....

Some CDTV titles are not 2.0 compatible.

Well,i don't have many CDTV titles......but Hutchinson Encyclopedia works fine.

I tried it on my A500 1.3 machine.......no joy either !

Is Turrican II 512k or 1Mb game ?

The CDTV was an ECS device, so I would guess that you definately need an ECS Amiga 500 + 1 Mbyte chip + A570 for it to work.

I remember reading that the A500 with A570 was not 100% CDTV compatible, but most titles do work.

Do you know where Turrican 2 can be downloaded (I have a A500 and A570 that I can test it on if you like)

Ok........On the main Sysinfo screen DMA\Gfx reports ECS Agnus 2 Meg ?

Why is it reporting 2 Meg instead of the standard 1 Meg ?

When i click on the memory tab,it reports 1 Meg..............

Probably a problem with SysInfo !

Anyway.......this is an ECS machine,same as CDTV......so don't know why it won't play Turrican II !

Your Agnus is capable to handle 2 MB Chip even if you have just 1 MB installed (plain A500+)

THX1138:

The A500 with an A570 will have less memory available than a CDTV because of its diskdrive eating some memory for buffers and that might be the problem.

You can try to disable DF0: in your early startup menu (reboot and hold both mouse-buttons). When there click on the "advanced options" button, change DF0 from enabled to disabled, then click on the use button and finally click on the CD0(?) button to boot.

The chip has a capacity to address 2MB as chipram (if your Motherboard supports it), it doesnt necessarily mean you have 2MB chip.

Sysinfo is telling you the revision of the chip, as there are several versions.

2MEG Agnus (Fatter Agnus) was standard in the A500+ (ECS)

I dont think the CDTV was a ECS machine, it only had Kickstart 1.3 which is OCS, ECS was 2.04 and beyond.

It was.

All CDTV's had ECS 1Mbyte Agnus allowing for 1Mbyte ChipRAM. Some (not all) have ECS denise too. It depends which revision you have.
