Hyperion Announce AmigaOS4.1 Update 1 Now available for download

Yes, that's right, the long-awaited update to AmigaOS 4.1 is now available to registered users.

That is the worst form of an update I have ever read! You have to rebuild your entire computer for an update! WTF!

Alot has been changed / re-written. Its all swish and fancy looking, the USB is much better now, everything that didnt work (in our tests, now works).

Its not a real problem, just backup your old partition and then pull stuff you want off it later on.

Indeed, but Win7 has copied Amiga OS, in that it doesnt use the registry as much.
I had installed loads of games when I had vista. I never backed up the reg for each game and thought Ill just reinstall.
Turns out I didnt need to as every game worked without the registry being there in Win7. Which is nuts as the registry normally contains the dir info and serial keys for lots of games.

fair enough, just seems a little drastic! It's a shame the hardware is still a bit too dear for what it is Guess you have to pay a premium for bespoke/low yield production
