Emuchina, pah, you got nothing
Yes you read right, Emuchina have been beaten, I have found a larger on line collection than what they have
It's at Aceroms I was planning to keep this to myself for a bit, but what the heck it's christmas, so here you go There collection is far more complete than Emuchina's, they have all the app's from the App's DAT for a start:eek Better warm up this download managers folks 'cause they've got work to do BTW all ADF's and roms are TOSECisized Seems there all stored on an FTP, I haven't managed to connect to it yet, maybe the FTP only works certain times of day. Let us know if you ever manage to connect, because the collection is mighty impressive Last edited by Ian; 06 December 2001 at 23:42. |

It Works
I could do a download list, but FlashGet is sh*te for downloading from an FTP, just load up your your favourite FTP program, I recommend FlashFXP Happy leeching folks Update: Sorry folks, seems FlashFXP doesn't show any files in the directory This has happened in a few FTP's I have visited is there anyway to make the files visible (And no it's not hidden files) Last edited by Ian; 07 December 2001 at 21:17. |

It's a great site. Congratulations to you
I'm downloading with flashget with only one download at the same time and only one jet for a file. It works but I have to log on and off for every file I download. I tried to use SmartFTP but it did not display files or folders as you said and smart usually displays hidden files unlike other clients. They must have found another way to hide their files than setting it's attributes to hidden. |

Hmm. I've considered it, but I ain't using it.
§ane told me to use FlashFXP ages ago, whilst I was uploading loads of Coverdisks to his FTP (Bet he can't remember) And I haven't tried anything else since, it's the best one IMO. |

I like LeechFTP, but you need to configure it fairly well otherwise you're most likely to piss off an FTP admin or two as it without configuring logs on multiple times (I think 5) and downloads with each log on. And then it's pre-configured to hammer a site. But if you get it set up it's a fairly good free client.

FlashFXP is the most state-of-the-art FTP software I have seen/used. It has/does everything (yes, it will make coffee for you!)

Linux server 2.4.10 (iptable + kernel)
And other FTP clients more "clean" with FTP rules works well with my firewall/server (not abime.net, my personnal one). |

I haven't used much in the way of FTP software, but I have to agree with Drake's & Marz's assesment of LeechFTP.
It doesn't seem to be bloatware in terms of size, plus from what I've read about other "free FTP", programs like Gozilla, there seems to be a number of complaints regarding snoopware software hidden in it,monitoring your downloading activities. But Drake is right, in my first ever use of Leech,(Or of any FTP software, period.) I visited one of Godflesh's FTP server's & hadn't realized the repeat delay requirements had changed & got banned within seconds. Although I wish there was a better readme file for begginers to LeechFTP like me, I think it does the job quite well. A shame it's discontinued. BTW-is there any way to save your bookmarks of LeechFTP Drake? |

I don't know what kind of problems you're having peeps, but I seem to be able to handle the collection just fine myself.
I'm using GetRight to download ADFs directly from their links on the pages without problems, although a lot of them do 'disconnect' the connection between them and GetRight regularly, although this is not a problem since I'm able to resume the download where I left off. Why bother with an FTP client and heavy setup, when I can just take GetRight into the shower with me? |

So you tried the demos?
Example: I'm sure this link is broken. Does it work for you Marz? ftp://aceroms:roms@202.101.177.172:8...%29%5Bb%5D.zip |

Actually, no, it says there's "no such file or directory", as you can see in the screenshot.
OK, I forgot to mention, I only tried out the "Coverdisks" section at this precise mo . I was happy to go there, though, for it had coverdisks neither Nth Dimension or Amiga Coverdisks had in the first place. Attachment Removed Last edited by Ian; 29 December 2001 at 19:43. |
