Why do you think that 3x is few ? This is like a car running at 50 km/h versus one running at 150 km/h. I'd consider this much much faster.
Or do you refer to other tests not mentioned above ? Which OS do you run ? With OS 3.5 and 3.9 some ROM modules are replaced by the ROM update which means they are aleady in RAM and whether the ROM is copied to RAM or not does not matter. With OS 3.9 BB2 even the most important part of AmigaOS, exec.library, is replaced by a RAM module, so maprom does not mean much here, anyway. |

Oh, yes ! >Or do you refer to other tests not mentioned above ? Yes, of course ! >Which OS do you run ? OS 3.9 with "SetPatch NoRomUpdate" Someone can try with an Apollo (and RemApollo) to see if you get a speedup ? Theorically, with the Kick in fast, the Workbench must run faster... I don't understand... |

Also if you have a fast processor with a big cache, many of the speed tests can be run from the cache without accessing the ROM chips. |

>There is not much left which really runs from ROM
>Also if you have a fast processor with a big cache, many of the speed tests can be run from the cache without accessing the ROM chips The Kickstart is called all the time when we use the Workbench... My 060 have only 8 ko of code cache... And before in cache, the code must be loaded into ! |
