Pools of Darkness disk read error

I just started a new game (WHDLoad version) and a short way in I am recieving a 'disk read error' message, before the screen goes black and I have to restart WinUAE.

Anyone come across this before?

I vaguely recall a data corruption glitch that plagued my progress when I originally played on my Amiga in the 90's.

I've played farther into the game before (I started a new game today) without recieving this error.

There's nothing on the internet about it either, what could it be?
