RIP John Ian Mansfield AKA Johnim
It is With Extreme sadness that we have to announce the passing of our dear friend and Community member John Ian Mansfield aka Johnim
John has been a massive supporter and a key member within our Community and almost everyone has, at some point, had dealings with him. He was loved and respected by us all for the beautiful human being that he was and the example he set. John was a very hard-working father, married to the lovely Aimee and together they built a beautiful family unit with John being idolised by all his children and always being very protective and caring of them. Nothing will bring John back, but, perhaps, we as a Community can do something to help his family by offering some small financial support, and so a fundraiser has been started. If you are able to donate it would be very much appreciated and please know that every penny will go to Aimee to help her and her children through these difficult days. Please make donations, any amount will be received with thanks and donations can be sent via paypal to donations@amibay.com - make sure you add a note ‘Johnim’ John will always be remembered by us all, both here and in retro circles across the Web. Rest in Peace dear friend and colleague. The Amibay Team |

I am really saddened by this news which has come out of the blue. John was a great guy, a gentleman and we considered him a friend.
He would always spent hours chatting with us at Amiga events and shows, he was friendly and knowledgeable about the Amiga. He always thought of others, an example being when we were too busy serving customers on our stands in shows, he would bring us food and drink to keep us going through the day. Amibay events will not be the same without him. We will miss him. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. Donation for John's family sent to Amibay. |

I never spoke to John, and never had any dealings with him, but am obviously still saddened by the news.
Rest In Peace John. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. |

We started collecting donations for John's family last Monday.
My Paypal announcements went mad on the Monday and Tuesday. I then sat down Tuesday evening to work out how much had been donated in his memory. Tears started to well as the amount of money went up and up. To all those that donated - you are a credit to the community and to John and his family. This is closing tonight and an announcement will be made of how much has been raised. So please if you would like to donate and haven't please can you do so before this evening. Thank you |
