Bugger, as it turns out RN implemented not just his format to some of those games, but his copylock too, so no easy eADFs of MKs 1+2, Out To Lunch and Jurassic Park.
And it appears none of the currently available IPF sets of LOTT are of this "Early PDOS" version you mention, as the tracks are declared 'raw', with no specific type to speak of. I wonder how dlfrsilver is usually the main guy for eADFs? Does he have the (rare) hardware to get away with it? And/or the cracking knowledge? |

Team 17 were the only software company to use just PDOS and no other protection type which was stupid for many reasons: 1). PDOS is incredibly easy to crack, reading the entire contents of each game disk is simplicity 2). Some of Team 17 were from the cracking/demo scene, and they REALLY should have known better than to just allow the format of the disk to be its only protection. Copylock is crap, but, its that extra level of security and invariably the checksums used to detect if the Copylock has been tampered with are stronger than the actual Copylock itself. Probe used both PDOS and Copylock, but unfortunately, the way they implemented Copylock was too easy to crack, but the byproduct was that the casual copier still couldn't copy the disks. |

On the plus side, it appears that Gremlin's MFM format is also supported, so I've been able to make eADFs of a handful of Gremlin's titles (seems not as many of them used the specific format supported by wwarp).
Does anyone know how you're supposed to go about writing LOTT back to disk? F didn't seem to fix things for me the way it did with the Team 17 disks (which without using F would splutter at track 0). |
