Missing AMOS and Blitz Basic Quickmatch tags

I noticed that many AMOS and Blitz Basic games are missing the "Blitz Basic" and "AMOS" quickmatch tags, and therefore won't show up when you search for AMOS or Blitz games.

So, I explored the database and tried to find such game entries, browsing through all games from 1994 to 1999. And I found quite many, although I'm sure that this is not all.

It's important to add these quickmatch tags to the game entires, because otherwise finding AMOS and Blitz games from the archive is based on luck.

So here is a list of the Blitz and AMOS games that I found, that are not yet marked as Blitz and AMOS games by a quickmatch tag:

---------------------------

BLITZ BASIC games

For the 3 games below, the HOL notes mention that they are made with Blitz Basic, but the quickmatch tag is missing:

Alien Fish Finger
http://hol.abime.net/4687
HydroZone
http://hol.abime.net/5375
Wired Chaos
http://hol.abime.net/5858

Those games are all made by David J. Cruickshank:
http://hol.abime.net/hol_search.php?N_ref_artist=3296
All of his game pages the HOL notes say "game made with blitz", but only one game has the Blitz basic quickmatch, and the 3 games mentioned above do not.

---

Insectoids From Outer Space
http://hol.abime.net/5900

In this case too HOL notes mention its made by Blitz, but there is no quickmatch.

---

Ampu
http://hol.abime.net/4480
The game docs mention that it's made with Blitz Basic 2.

Game docs say its made with Blitz Basic 2.

---

Breakout Revolution

Cyberdroid

Game title screen messages mentions Blitz Basic.

---

Blitz Bombers

The One Amiga issue 82 has a 4 page long preview of the game, where the authors mention they're making it with Blitz.

Tracker Hero
http://hol.abime.net/5776

Aminet description mentions it's made with AmiBlitz 2.

AMOS games

Ork Attack

And for these games, HOL screenshots mention AMOS, either in the title screen or elsewhere:

Santa & Rudolph Do Christmas

Amos text in game title screen.

Scavenger

Dr. Strange 2

And for the following games, HOL entry notes mention that they're AMOS games, but the quickmatch is missing:

Darts 501

Quatro
http://hol.abime.net/4490
LCD Dreams

Super Skidmarks and Worms / Worms DC are Blitz Basic games and should be labelled as such, have confirmed this with the developers themselves.

This is the HOL page of the developer Vision:
http://hol.abime.net/hol_search.php?N_ref_developer=626

According to the info on it, Microbes and Zombie Apocalypse were "written for Blitz Basic".

And of those two Zombie Apocalypse is tagged as a Blitz Basic game, but Microbes isn't:
http://hol.abime.net/2463

Does anyone know if some other Vision games on that list were also made with Blitz Basic, besides those two? A few games look like they could have been made with Blitz, but it's hard to say anything for sure.

---

Also, if I'm correct, didn't AMOS require back then that all games made with it, commercial or not, had to contain the AMOS logo, or at least mention something like "game made with AMOS"?

Did Blitz Basic also have a similar requirement?

Doubtful. Seek and Destroy resembles Project Buzzbar, which was a Blitz demo game, but is sufficiently different.

Not that everyone respected it.

I think it did at first, but the requirement was lifted.

Ok, time to bump this thread.

I have updated the game list in the original post, added some pics and video links, and removed those games that already have been given the correct quickmatch tags since this thread was posted back in 2016.

---
---

And in addition to that list, as earok mentioned in his post Worms, Worms DC and Super Skidmarks were made with Blitz Basic 2.

Here is a screenshot from the Worms credits, which says "compiled with Blitz 2" :

These are the Worms entires:

Worms OCS
http://hol.abime.net/1779
Worms CD32
http://hol.abime.net/1780
Worms Directors Cut
http://hol.abime.net/1781

Also about the original Worms page: you should put that "Has an updated version" link to Worms Directors Cut under "game relationship".

And about Super Skidmarks, Skidmarks 1 manual says it's made with Blitz, so in all likelyhood the sequel too is made with Blitz. And as earok mentioned in his post, both the authors of Worms and Super Skidmarks have confirmed that the games were made with Blitz. So I think it's safe to say that this is the case.

Super Skidmarks and it's many data disks are listed here:

I found an EAB thread about Alien Fish Finger:
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=58134

And in this post the author DJ Cruickshank confirms that he made all his games with Blitz:
http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=741394&postcount=32

So this confirms that the first 3 games in the list: Alien Fish Finger, HydroZone and Wired Chaos are all made with blitz, just like the HOL entry notes already mention.

Only the Quickmatch tags are missing, just like they still are from all the games in this list. But no need to hurry, add them when you have time.
