The AVGN said the 'A' word

I noticed today that the nerd's [ Show youtube player ] features a tweaked version of the infamous intro/theme tune which shoe-horns in a slew of extra vintage computers/consoles, including the Miggy. Watch this space.

As well as the good games, there's a whole host of shitty games he could review on the Amiga lol

That "updated" intro is at least ~7 years old

Wow, really? I wonder if I hadn't noticed until now because I binge-watched dozens of the old episodes to catch up and skipped the intros. It does beg the question though, where are the Amiga game rants?

He never had one. After all, the popularity of the NES in the US compared to Amiga was like 60:5. I remember he did one about C= a few years back, but mostly about the hardware, I don't remember him covering any specific game in detail but my memory could be foggy.

I think the long version of the intro song, where Kyle Justin mentions Amiga, Commodore 64, Intellivision, ColecoVision, etc. was first used in one of the Sega 32x/Sega CD episodes.

So far, James Rolfe has never released an AVGN episode where an Amiga game is the topic.

He reviewed a Transformer game (Strategic Battle Simulator or something) on the C64 (on tape, no less) in the Transformers episode, although the main part of the episode was about the Transformers Famicon game.
In the Superman 64 episode, he also plays a little bit of Superman on the C64 as a joke because people were really expecting him to play the infamous Superman game on the Nintendo 64.

There's one C64 game review was released as a DVD bonus feature: http://cinemassacre.com/2011/07/26/t...y-commodore-64

Otherwise there are a few episodes that show C64 games (Superman 64, Batman).

The Amiga is so under-represented in retrogaming discussion, probably because it faded so quickly in the US - everyone their went from NES to SNES/Genesis for action games and C64 to PC for adventures and sims. In Europe PCs entered ythe home much later - what did did in Europe had been done by Wing Commander in the US 3 years earlier. The Amiga gave the world Lemmings, Sensi, Populous, F1GP, The Settlers, Turrican, Wings, Worms, Skidmarks, Alien Breed - I think it deserves more respect.

^It also gave the world many, many horrible games, at least on par with the NES

Yesterday we had an Amiga party and someone brought CDTV and we spent a hour or two with Psycho killer. If you watched AVGN episode Plumbers dont wear ties, you will agree that this Amiga "game" would be a good material for James.
