Gamebase is vapourware. They ain't releasing jack. It has been like this for quite soem time now.
This is their chance to amass rare roms for more platforms than the C64. I know some people will bash me about my comments about Gamebase, but their words seem as valuable as those of Amiga inc. :P T |

Considering that the Gamebase project has now been released would AKira like to reconsider his words?
I have two CDs full to brim with over 15,000 C64 games and correspsonding artwork, music and scans; even photographs of the muscians who worked on certain sids. Its quite impressive, almost frighteningly so. |

GameBase was released on alt.binaries.emulators.misc a few days ago. Maybe it is still available.

ROMS to the game images above in this 2-years-old post! LOL! Akira says "roms"! That's just as rare as saying 'the' in out of 10,000 posts instead of 'teh'! |

Yep, I'm very surprise too ! Never thought they would actually release it before I am a hundred years old
In fact I thought they had invented gamebase just to get all the games for themselves, because I could never understand their arguments for not releasing it earlier... ? Anyway, now it is here after at least 3 promised releases which never occured. Ok, it is nice, it's a cool thing, but it would have been greater if it had been released earlier ! I didn't trust into the GB64 team and was a little bit angry because quite some games from their collection originally came from my own C64 games collection. If I hadn't ( indirectly ) given them some games, these perhaps wouldn't be in gamebase now ! And I even still have some games still missing or being corrupt in GB64 I will ask if they send me the CDs and decide on this if I will support them. |

If you contributed you shoudl be sent CDs get in touch with them
you are right though in that they have absolutely no right what soever to keep the games from anyone - the games aren't their property! |

Its a great piece of kit , but the interface is windoz only. I really do think they should have used HTML/XHTML or maybe java and made it portable.
Still when you start looking at it , it can takes hours away from ya. And yep I am also one of those whos collection of Tapes are on there with no credit for conversion in site , They have been taken directly from my site. Still nice work. |

@Peanutuk:
Yep, I know I could leeche it from emule/edonkey kazaa or newsgroups, but I don't want to leave my PC running forever. I would be happy if they would send me the CDs just for the price of a empty CD or so. I will ask them for this Afterall they said they will send GB CDs to everyone who supported them some years ago |

Nah, no offense - but "roms", "fighting" and "Akira" are a perfect symbiosis |
