Any news on a new version of Akiko ?

Just wondering if this emulator is ever going to be updated, I purchased version 1.6 about a year ago, and I like it. For me it's treats the CD32 & CDTV like a console (Which I know they are, but you get the idea - more MAME style). Also the merits of running iso's and MP3's saves considerable hard drive space.

I know some people have nothing but disdain for this project 'cos it uses WinUAE but it does what it says on the tin and is simple to pick up & play. Only things i'm really looking for in a new version is increased compatibility and the ability of a save state.

Any news or an update would be appreciated

I don't know. I also purchased the emu more than 2 years ago and now I have a real CD32. But I don't know why the author has not updated the emulator. Actually, the last versions of UAE are better than Akiko.

Hell, WinUAE versions from early 2002 when I correctly emulated most of my CD32 and CDTV collection were FAR superior to ASS-kiko, which used WinUAE at it's emulation point.

How can an emulator based on WinUAE be sold?

Simple: it is gpl, the author gives up all his rights for income and copyright claims, and enables others to do whatever pleases them with his work. Including sale, like akiko or amiga forever etc.
