A2091 won't work with 1.2 A2000

I bought this A2091 from ebay with 1 Meg of RAM installed on the card. When I installed it with a 1 Gig Hard drive, the Amiga 2000 wouldn't boot from the floppy and the power light would go bright and dim over and over.
I am using Kickstart 1.2 and when I disconnect the hard drive and just plug in the A2091 the A2000 still won't boot. Can anyone help?

I'm pretty sure the 2091 required 1.3, but it's been a long time since I worked on those. I believe version 6.x 2091 ROMs also had less faults than the 7.0 ROMs, also.

It's not supposed to. You need Kickstart 1.3 for it to work at all, and at least Kickstart 2.0 for it to be really usable.

You CAN get away with disabling autoboot via the board's jumpers and load it's driver from disk; you'll need to boot off floppy every time but at least you can check to see if the board is working.

Why would you need kickstart 2.0?

You need 1.3 for autobooting but it should still work with 1.2...

Yes, only autoboot needs to be disabled for 1.2 use.

Have fun making the bootdisk that creates a small rad: that contains the absolute minimum to transfer control to the HD and continue booting from there.

There's a s:startup-sequence.hd on the 1.3 disk that aids you in your quest.
