PRINCE OF PERSIA [save game]

Oh my... I don't anymore remember what was the key combination to save a game in PRINCE OF PERSIA. It wasn't at least shift+s cause it is sound on/off...

Well, I'm getting to be a little old so can anyone help grandpa?

I think you could save a game with ctrl-g but it didn't work in the first two levels.
If you're using WinUAE you could also use the savestate feature.

Even with the correct keypress (can't remember now) I never got the save to work. I had the Angels cracked & trained version.

Same for me. The WHDLoad version allows to save, but it's better (but cheating) to use savestate if you run WinUAE.

Eurosoft released a save game patch, but it overwrote the trainer. I have a version that combined both. It does write to the disk directly.

The trained and eurosoft savefixed version has been in GameBase Amiga for quite a while now..

It baffles me why more people don't use it..

It seems like the one in GameBase Amiga has the Fusion trainer. Mine's with the Angel trainer.

fragment of the manual:

----------------
Saving Your Game
----------------

Once you have reached Level 3, you will have the option of saving your
game to disk and continuing it later. To save your current game, press
CONTROL-G at any time during play. The program will briefly access the
drive, then continue with the game.

The next time you boot the PRINCE of PERSIA disk, instead of pressing a
joystick button or any key to start a new game, press CONTROL-L. The game
will resume from the beginning of the level you were on when you last
saved it.

------------
Special Keys
------------

Esc.....................Freeze frame. Press again for single frame advance.
Press any other key to resume play.
Control-J...............Selects joystick control. Also recalibrates the program
to match your joystick. Make sure that when you press
this key, the joystick is in its center (release)
position.
Control-K...............Selects keyboard control.
Control-R...............Ends the game and returns you to the title sequence.
Control-A...............Restarts play from the beginning of the current level.
Control-S...............Turns off all sound. Press again to turn the sound
back on.
Control-N...............Turns off the music. Press again to turn the music
back on. (only Apple)
Control-G...............Saves the current game to disk.
Control-L...............Resumes the last saved game. (Press during the title
sequence.)
Control-X...............Flips the verticle axis of your joystick.
Control-Y...............Flips the horizontal axis of your joystick.
Space Bar...............Press to see how much time is left.

SHIFT L = next level

Prince of Persia with Angels +2 trainer and Eurosoft's savefix combined, uploaded to the Zone.

There is a save game on the image, so it's not a clean version. I could release a clean version with no save if people are interested.

Thanks demoniac, I've grabbed it. Maybe a clean version could be added to the TOSEC - if this isn't in there already? I know some members here deal with that kind of thing.

I removed the version with the save, and uploaded a clean version. Perhaps, you can play the clean version thru and see if it works to completion? (It should.) Also, it seems like WinUAE's custom disk format might be required to save future games.
