I've got one of those PSX>USB adapters, and since its driver is DirectX based, there is no problem at all with WinUAE or any other game! Force Feedback works as well (though you need an external power supply of course, otherwise you could cause damage to your mainboard!). No latency/timing problems at all
I think I'm in love with Toni |

:eek :hoo you got me worried now. I was playing Silent Hill 2 *pc* it supports the rumble and shock mode. I didnt realize I could fry my mobo. Not sure if its DirectX biased but I know it uses the "Human Interface Device" Works like a charm with WinUAE. Didnt realize there was force feedback in amiga games. If thats what you were refering to above. Last edited by Critter; 02 November 2003 at 14:03. |

No, I mean, the force feedback for the psx controller needs about ~400ma or something, and you can't take that from the mainboard. There for you need an external power supply (I use one 10v 0.5A from a SNES ). I can't get force feedback from Amiga games (but would it be possible to implent? like rumble some when two sprites collide? ), but i get it in about every other game that supports force feedback
And yes, your is directx based |

Well, I use a digital PC Quickshot stick that is 100% the same like the Amiga version Quickshot, but with a PC gameport connector So no doggy control like with a analogue shitstick, but accurate control with tiny ways in each direction
But fortunately I only have to play on the emu just for testing games. If I really want to play a game then I use a real miggy with a Amiga joystick, ofcoz |

Am I safe now? Or you suggest I avoid using the 'Force Feedback'? |

heeh, your psu doesn't matter in this case, you need an external power supply to your psx>usb pad anyway (if you would try to take that power from the mainboard, it would break immediatley)

Ah I was thinking back in the old days when you made your own psx>lpt-adapter ( i made one ), then you couldn't take any power from the parallell port. but now it's usb, so i guess that's where your controller gets its power from. (my RockFire still needs external battery eliminator)
