the amiga always had the best graphics because of his scanline system.

How many games looks rubbish with them ? Scanline is for polishing pixels
on screen, nothing more (fully agree with DamienD )

If the PCs had scanlines, the games would have been excellent to watch
in 256 colors instead of those blocky horrible square pixels....

Everytime I watch the screenshots on Lemon, I can't help setting Scanlines to 'on'. It gives me _that_ special feeling...

Well it wasn't the Amiga that had 'scanlines' it was the TV. So the PSX did have scanlines really. It's an artifact of interlacing.

You shouldn't really notice scanlines much if you had a decent quality TV. The people who voted yes played Amiga games on spherical, bubble-vision monitors

Don't forget PAL kg!
NTSC games were pretty much unknown in my region so I've almost never seen scanlines!
And my cheap TV has a antialiasing switch (for real) that enables me to blur, blur-more or blur-much-more the display :]

There is no need for consoles to have scanlines, they plug directly into the TV and not a PC monitor...
