Hello
Hi everyone
I'm new here so please forgive me for sounding like it A few months ago, I was dating a guy who loved computers more than anything. I learnt a thing or two from him, but what really interested me was a game where you played this cute little guy that had to bust bubbles. I want to play it again but I have no idea what to do, or even where to get it. I would love it if someone could help me out but if noone does, whatever |

Welcome to our forum Sarah, but we have a dedicated section for this type of post, so I've moved it for you
As to what that games is, I have no idea, sorry. I'm sure someone will though. |

Do you know what computer or console you played it on? Was it an Amiga? If so it could be Bubble Heroes:

All depends on the way you have to burst the bubbles.

Would asking the guy about the game be a problem?

Bubble dizzy you didn't have to burst bubbles, rather jump on them to get up while getting the pearls (dang did I get upset when I finally made it through all levels and found I had missed 2 pearls because I thought they weren't that important to get).

You guys are sweet. I wasn't expecting any replies at all. lol
The game I remember is called Pang. I'm amazed you all got it to be honest. I thought my description was a little vague. I know what the game is. Now where do I go from here? My memory is a little fuzzy, but I recall my ex blabbing on about making the PC think it's a different computer, namely an Amiga. Am I right in saying this? Once again, thanks for everything. MWAH |

Well if you don't have anything there are some ways you can go from here. The game was released for several systems.
You could get an Amiga emulator such as WinUAE, you'd need a kickstart ROM for that though which is still very much copyrighted so if you don't have your own you can buy one through Colanto's Amiga forever. Then you'll need the game. Under old game requests there's a thread telling you how to find the ADF you're looking for. That's the disk images. And then there's a lot of setup to do. If you only want to play Pang and not any other games I suggest you go look into the emulator called MAME which emulates arcade machines. Google should be able to tell you where it's homepage is (MAME32 might be nice as it has a gui). Then go to a place like www.planetemu.net and under arcade roms find Pang, put it in the roms directory of MAME (zipped or not) and run MAME. It has a quick and easy gui to get you started on the games so it should be easier for you to get started on that. Of course I recommend trying out the Amiga emulation at some point and trying some of the other games available. But if only for Pang I don't think it's worth the trouble right now as it is a bit of work getting it running and the Arcade version of Pang is a bit better. |

@Drake. Funnily enough, having played Pang on Mame & played it on my A500,& again in WinUAE, I honestly have to say I preffered the Amiga version! Maybe it was the tunelets or something, I dunno,or maybe the easier difficulty!
But for some reason I thought it was more polished. Maybe until,(or if we ever see Amiga Snow Bros.), it might have to rank as Ocean France's finest work. BTW-Welcome to EAB Sarah! You thought your description was vague? If you ever see some of the game quiz challanges put up by some of the guys here, your description would seem like a novel! Cody, up for creating another guess the game pixel sorta quiz? |

I would recommend sticking to MAME emulation... Amiga emulation can get complicated and if all you want is to play Pang, MAME will be much more user-friendly.

I agree that if you want to play Pang, you should stick with arcade emulation. Amiga emulation is very complicated for someone who never used an Amiga before. Also, by emulating the arcade version, you could also try the sequels, Super Pang and Pang 3.

@7-zark Well the MAME version is in it's own way a bit easier since you can get as many continues as you want without having to buy yourself poor.
As far as I recall the music on both versions were strikingly similar too. I just liked the interlace look I could get in Mame I guess. |
