REQ: Shadow of the Beast III demo disk
My SOTB III (Unplayable) demo disk has gone walk about. The disk was given away at shows and some shops etc.
I'm after either a replacement or a dump of it. The disk is protected so you'll need to use MFMWarp or NomadWarp to image it. If I remember correctly the demo might have a built in disk duplicator? Has to be the original. I already have the cracked version from the Aminet. http://aminet.net/package/game/demo/ShadowOfTheBeast3 |

Shadow of the beast III can be copied easily with x-copy, track 0 to 81 on the 3 disks.

Thanks for that, but this thread is about the 1-disk free unplayable DEMO DISK given away by Psygnosis at shows. It is not about the retail game disks.
IIRC it uses the SOTB1 disk format / protection |

EDIT : oups
If it uses beast I copy protection you will not be able to duplicate it. If it uses Beast 3 retail format, you will be able to copy it as much as you want. Last edited by dlfrsilver; 21 January 2010 at 00:42. |

Because it I tried the crack disk and it does not play through the same as I remember.
Either it is from a different version demo disk or the crackers made changes / missed out some scenes in order to keep it on one disk. |

From memory, SOTB1 demo disk was also protected (or was it ?), but the disk had a "COPY" feature.
Does the original SOTBIII demo disk have a copy feature too ? |

this is probably a good example of why ipf images are important, and obviously being able to recreate an "original" from an ipf image. There are so many bad cracks out there with chopped scenes, addons, just plain bad cracks etc that you cant beat an original.
I hate getting into a game only to find that it crashes, hangs, freezes etc, etc. Using an emulator is often the way to go as it can read the ipf images but to me it still does not replace the original machine. Its like buying a vintage car and throwing in a brand new engine, not the same. |

Thats not true at all. Putting up with bad cracks/trainers was all part of the true Amiga experience.

WHD installers you heard this? Make your future installs as crappy as you can, so that the "true Amiga experience" doesn't get spoilt!
HAHA...you've got what it takes to be a comedian mate! |
