@sjakie43: Could you please explain how you are managing single-file and hard drive installed (non-WHDLoad) demos in GameBase. I am interested in helping you on this project, what can I do? |

So ... could you try to "re-filter" your bugged list for demos which do not work yet? Just in order to close the lid on some which do work now. |

hi,
thanks oddbOd and thanks andreas! MDIII and Boys in Blue now working! First: About hd files, i have no idea yet how do put them in gamebase. First i will insert all demos that are adf,dms or exe. I hope we can find a way to insert hd demos too! Second: In previous posts have i have shown the script (gemus) i am working with. I seriously need some extra functions in the gemus script.... Like floppy speed, video card, rtg and so on. Third: I have updated the NOT working list, here it is: Last edited by sjakie43; 28 July 2011 at 15:58. |

Can you confirm the garbled graphics at the "EGO" part in MDIII, too? I'd love to have a 100% working one, with absolutely no graphics errors. If mine doesn't happen to be of that kind, I'll search elsewhere. Last edited by andreas; 22 June 2007 at 18:25. |

OK, I'm on them...
242DL75 (Rage): Believe it or not - this binary is 100% OK!! BTW, the demo is AGA. After xfddecrunching the ~ 225 kB binary, you'll get a whopping 1.8 MB binary in return! But yes, it *does* work! Yet unable to persuade WinUAE to unpack the binary on-the-fly, no matter how much RAM I pump in! Every 3rd attempt crashes WinUAE completely. (Toni: Minidumps have been saved) Using A1200 Quickstart (+4 MB Fast) implies JIT and makes the app crash almost every time. Blip Verts #4: 100% working disk version is in the zone, created from amigascne's .COP file using Simplex Tools. Looks the "mistake" is that you cannot run the binary alone but it needs some files to work with. In case zeg reads this: just remove the standalone 397440-byte binary from amigascne - it makes no sense keeping it! BTW this is not a demo, but a scene disk magazine! Bubble3 by Void: needs external library (mathtrans.library) - impossible to run as single binary!! I've made an ADF which will boot into the demo and load the required library (->zone) Buzz 6: A500 quickstart + KS 2.04. BTW this is not a demo either, but a scene disk magazine! Collage by Anadune - AGA! - A1200 quickstart Contact and Demo Again (both by Vision): Use KS 1.2 (33.180)! Digital Dreams by AFL: A500, 2 MB Chip RAM Dolle Dock by Apathy: Can't work that way - needs mathtrans.library! Custom-made ADF version in the zone. Use A500, and 1 MB Chip RAM! Buzz 6: works ok now! i'l let in in for now... Collage by Anadune : works ok now! Contact:works ok now! Demo Again:works ok now! Digital Dreams:works ok now! Dolle Dock:got the version in the zone, works ok now! Thank you very much! regards sjakie43 |

MIRACLES HAPPEN AS WE SPEAK!
After my track/gfx error reports, zeg stroke again and dug out a fully 100% working version of FLT/NST Megademo III!!! EGO part is now working without graphics errors! Yeehaw - thanks zeg! here ya go: http://kestra.exotica.org.uk/demo.php?id=1924 and some more: Downtown by Abyss: Good one. This demo is for PC (DOS)! If you start this "Amiga" executable, it will automagically work in DOS! Explorer by Delight: AGA! use A1200 quickstart and turn Fastest Possible off, otherwise you'll make the demo freeze! Fatal Overdrive by Aero: Impossible to run the DMS files - due to a track data CRC error on disk A! Intro 35 by Vision: A500, 512K Chip mem only, no expansion (bogo) mem! Thanks
Downtown: AGAIN - I cannot give a "config" for that one, because this is an executable for DOS x86 PC! >>> Here <<< you have another proof on POUET.NET that this demo is NOT for Amiga! ---- Bob Plop by CULT (*not* Absence - thanks to zeg, check also here!) - Works but it was necessary to truncate the file to a length of 119240 bytes by stripping off 56 bytes at the end, because the rest was garbage and confused the machine! Fixed binary in the zone! Extension by Pygmy Projects: works for me with A500 quickstart. If it doesn't, I'll up the DMS images from amigascne for you, which work perfectly. Faktory by Virtual Dreams & FLT: AGA! - use A1200 expanded (4 MB) quickstart! HD only! Full Moon by Virtual Dreams & FLT: AGA! - use A1200 expanded (4 MB) quickstart & Best Compatibility (very important!!) Note: The complex "flying geometrical objects" part still has some smaller graphical bugs. Just For Your Ears by Zenith: working 100%, but currently from ADF only! The DMS images from amigascne are tested and OK, but they are confusing the current built-in DMS support code in WinUAE and may slow down the app to a crawl!! A fix for this is in the works and should be available in one of the upcoming builds... Lethal Dose 2 by Faculty: AGA! - A1200 quickstart, set 8 MB Fast RAM and turn JIT off! Seventh Attempt by 23 Celsius Crew: - 100% working version in the zone. Also the widespread DMS file (646,334 bytes) has a hell of graphics and sound issues, which were reproducible also on my A1000! Config: A500. Tekkno Trax by AFL: A500. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. I'd say the "menu screen flashing for 1/10 second, then black screen" issue is a WinUAE problem, because if you type in aflttm again, it works! If you do a RESET and let the disk boot up a second time, you can usually access the menu too! Weird problem... War Machine intro by Accumulators: This is the TetraPack-2.2-crunched file 'war' from War Machine (->TOSEC) but decrunched (300200 bytes). Since this is relocated when unpacking, it is NOT executable anymore. The crunched binary (-> zone) does work but it will guru after you quit the intro because it expects War Machine game data afterwards! Last edited by andreas; 18 July 2007 at 00:20. |

There IS a disk version of this thing, but you have to look for it! TOSEC version is OK - in the zone! The other VD demo - Faktory - is HD-only! War Machine: have you grabbed the binary from the zone? Works fine, just gurus when clicking the mouse to QUIT the intro, i. e. it gurus at the very end. @heavy: The video version of Love is captured from a real Amiga, whether the copies that are available are bugged or it's an emulation issue I really don't know but I've tried 5 different versions and always have the black rectangle problem.
Major Delight 1 all 4 demos + the intro work correctly with your A500 config, simply remove the first three lines from the startup-sequence and delete the file intro from the main directory, it's a badly decrunched version of flt and is not required. While I was looking for more copies of Love/VD I stumbled across a collection of old shovelware CDs on textfiles.com some of which are Amiga discs, though I doubt there is anything that couldn't be found elsewhere it may be useful as a secondary source of demos. |
