Want to buy 040 or 060 accelerator for my A4000
I'm looking for an upgrade to my crappy 3630 card. I want either a 68040 or a 68060. The card should be able to hold 64-128MB of 72-pin EDO memory.
Oh, and I'm, interested in offers, not in eBay links. |

I would recommend you stay away from the Apollo 4040. I just got one and it is about as stable as Paul McCartney's marriage.
WarpEngine & Cyberstorm are reportadly the best. If RAM wasnt an issue, A3640's sell for about 1/10th the price. |

Lol. Yes, I had an Apollo 3040 some years ago. Same as 4040, only with two SIMM slots. I didn't exactly have any issues with it, except that the SCSI is crap and that it was hard finding SIMMs that the card actually would accept. Picky bastard.

Yes, I hope I'll be happy with it. It'll be my first 68060!

Demax : a cheap option is an A3640 together with 6 Mb Ram on a Zorro2 scsi controller or Ram board. That way you have a 68040/25 with 22 Mb Fast Ram, though not very fast compared to a CS 68040 ...

I've got an A3640 on it today, and 16mb fastram.. But it would be cool with some more action in the cpu-department!! Like CyberstormPPC!

Have you tried Software Hut. I just recently picked up a 060 GVP board for the 4000. I don't know if they have anymore, but is worth a try. I know they have 060 GVP boards for the 2000
