best PCI video card for Elbox 4000

I just bought an Elbox 4000 case with mediator.

What's the best video card PCI that can do 2D and 3D?

Thanks!

Radeon 9250 (Think it has to be 3v though).

It's possibly a Voodoo 4 or 5 although there are a couple of minor bugs and they draw more power. They do give double the gfx memory although one bug is that the Voodoo 4 does not give more than 16MB fast memory. The speed is about the same as a Voodoo 3 which is generally a better value considering it's easier to find and cheaper.

There are no Radeon 3D drivers for classic AmigaOS or AROS. AmigaOS 4.x (PPC card required) supports some Radeon cards in 3D.

Yes both work in both OS in 2D mode.

The voodoo3 works with both in 3D mode as it has Warp3D drivers for both.

However the Radeon 9250 has (had?) no Warp3D driver for OS3.9. I don't know if that has changed?

The Radeon for OS4.1 has Warp3D and will give you the best OS4.1 experience such as 3D hardware transparency effects in the OS.

For OS3.9 it was only the Voodoo's that had Warp3D, the Voodoo 3 3000 being the most compatible although the 2000 works fine.

Voodoo 4 and 5 work, Warp3D too but some Games might not like it. The 4 and 5 give you a little more Video Ram in OS4. (only 32mb even on the Voodoo 5) However it's still not fast enough to do the 3D OS effects but a solution if you want a dual boot setup.

I would check with Elbox though as they just released new drivers so things might have changed.
