Morph OS and Mac G4

Just picked up a Mac G4 for free with keyboard:
Specs:

MAC G4 Quicksilver
PPC dual 800Mhz cpus
1.5bg ram
2x 60gb hdds
Geforce 2 MX (400 I think) gpu
Installed with Mac osX 10.4 (I think)

Was wondering if its good enough to run MorphOS and if so, could it run the latest one or would it have to be an earlier version?

Is it possible to Dual boot MorphOS and OSX. Or, it that's not possible can I just rip out the drives and install a fresh morph os...

I kinda like the Apple OS and want to keep it. Actually, I like the whole system.

Ps. I heard that MorphOS doesn't like Nvidia cards. I have a 9200SE lying around... could I just swap it for that one?

The latest one is the best for everything else except the BPPC/CSPPC.

I had some 800MHz QS machine for a while too. I think it was the 2002 model, the next to your machine I think (when looking at this list). It had one quirk with MorphOS: audio was heard on both internal and external speakers at the same time. I disconected the internal speaker as a workaround. Otherwise the machine did it's job on the little use I gave it. 800MHz is there on the limit for the Youtube videos for example, they did play pretty OK but on the full CPU load. Oh and the machine only has USB1.1 ports, so it's painful slow to use USB for anything bigger Some USB2.0 cards should work.

Both are possible.

That is correct. You need a Radeon card, but it also has to be a Radeon with Mac BIOS, bulk PC cards don't work.

Some people have also reflashed PC cards to Mac BIOS, but it's not very reliable. Reflashed cards may or may not work properly, and you'll have to have the exactly correct version of the BIOS etc to have any hope to get it right. Reflashed cards aren't officially supported.

If you have to look a new Radeon card, consider these things at least: 7xxx Radeons aren't supported by the latest 3D drivers anymore, you're limited to old Warp3D support with them. Also 9550 and later don't support Warp3D, so the legacy Amiga 3D programs won't work on those. Your 9200SE would be nice in this regard, because it supports everything even though not being the fastest card. Not that you'd miss that much with Warp3D programs, there aren't that many of them. The most 3D stuff you'd want to use is MorphOS native working with the latest drivers. But if you like few Amiga 3D games or some PPC demoscene demos, then you'd like the W3D support.

Also if you want all the eyecandy and modern resolutions, you should have 64MB or more graphics memory. 32MB will do if you don't want to use fancy 3D accelerated graphics layers.
