Found boards.library 2.31 on my Amiga harddrive not available elsewhere
Does anyone want it? it's not available anywhere else on the net as far as I can see.
As far as I remember, the author sent it to me to test because the older versions were causing problems on my A4000T Added the full archive to The Zone! Maybe someone could upload it to aminet? attached only the boards.library file to this topic. EDIT: uploaded to aminet Last edited by ancalimon; 28 November 2011 at 21:56. |

WOW!
Thanks a lot for this ancalimon mate! I always wanted an updated boards.library! Piru's "WhichAmiga" also makes use of this library if it exists, reporting the device names and info that you have \o/ I just wish there was some code available for this library in order for someone to be able to add new devices to it |

I wish we could.
His library is really nice and despite working with WhichAmiga, it's MUI application is really nice as well! It would be just awesome if we could add new boards to it easily. |

Yes, I want to use it in my current project but if it is dead, I am think of building a new compatible library. And with your help here at EAB, fill it with Manufacturers and Products.

Because I need a boards.library-like funktionality in my current project I have built a small proof of concept, a new boards.library to replace the existing one. I based it on the documentation of boards231.lha and it seems to work just fine with one huge exception. The applications that are included in boards231.lha seem to have knowledge of the internals of the library that is not official documentet. Because they get a list of all Manufacturers and Products despite there is no api for it.
I have deliberately not used ReSource, Ida or any other way looked in the binaries, because I have not yet got hold of Copyrights owner and do not want to do anything illegal. Is there any interest in that I continue with the boards.library compatible implementation? Then I will need help to collect Manufacturers & Products (without stealing them from boards231.lha & ExpName22.lha or similar packages). |

Ended up taking a shortcut, attached a patch-file with instructions.
Hopefully we will sort out the copyright problems... Download the original boards231 from Aminet and use the boards.library2.31a version when patching. Now please send me those Manufacturer & Product IDs and names! |
