Multisync CRT monitors that will display all Amiga modes?
Hi,
I have an old, but trusty NEC Multisync II 14" CRT monitor, which can display all Amiga (AGA) screen modes, although some of the non-interlaced ones are slightly squashed on the screen and require a bit of 'fine-tuning' with the monitor controls... I'm just wondering if there's a list of other multisync CRTs that work with all Amiga screen modes? I know the original NEC Multisync and the MS IIa and MS 3D also work, but wonder if there are any other brands that will do the same (I'm taking the Commodore 1950/1960 and Microvitec as read)... There are a lot of good (and cheap) monitors available and I'm hoping that there are some Sony, Phillips or other good brands that I can keep an eye out for? Cheers, Mike. |

The Microvitec M1438S can display Pal,NTSC, DBlPal, DBLNtsc, Multisync resolution.

few CRT monitors on the market can display all amiga modes
I remember Microvitec 1438,1538 and 1738 also Nec Multysinc 3D Microtivec still produces some monitors that works fine on the amiga however I don't know if the condition is refurbished or new maybe you can order one check http://www.microvitec.co.uk/ |

I discovered recently that my 9 year old Sony E100 can go as low as 22Khz with HighGFX, which was a real surprise. But of course no 15Khz.

I have the Microvitec M1764. Nice 17" Monitor and woirks like a charm for over 10 years now.

My old M1438S would work clear and fine but unfortunately, mainly when I switch it on, it often requires some small strokes to stop the image to go up or down. Then it can stay hours and hours swithced on without any problems.
However I used it for many hours and for many years. Though at a very good price I had a bad bargain on e-bay where I bought an M1538S. It has a the same external sizes of the 1438S but it is 15". This has the problem that the image is too dark and command to modify it is broken. Sigh! I'll try in the future to find someone able to repair both them. |
