Did you check aminet? If it's not there, I would wager some money that it isn't available.

hmn, I'm interested in this ;-)

... How's the 0.8b version? Does it do the job?

> I just looked on aminet, but there seems to be only demos of the game, whats the title of the editor?

well i found the editor on planetemu.net

It is listed next to the actual game title in their archive. It does work verry well but there are fetures like UNDO wich do not work. But it will let you edit the terain where minerals are how much fish in the pond ect.

Its quite good as it is just wondered if they made a final version.

The editor is called EDSET and afaik there was never a full release

It is very good as you can load your save game in, populate all your mountains etc with minerals and empty your opponents mountains

Then once you take over an area fill those mountains etc

I used to use Edset. It was fantastic to restock your mountains and lakes after you'd mined all the resources out but you wanted to keep playing on that map.

Restocking your lakes gave you crazy fish. The fisherman would walk down to the lake, cast his line and reel a fish in on the first cast. If you placed his cabin right next to the lake, he'd catch like 4 fish per minute. You could feed your whole kingdom after a while and he would never run out, it was awesome.

The editor was easy to use. I remember it displayed the landscape in wireframe but I've never been able to find any screenshots online. I'd love to see it again.

It's on the aminet here:
https://aminet.net/package/game/edit/EdSet08

It was always satisfying to load your save game in, template select your kingdom and remove all the junk from the landscape like unmineable stone.

After a bit of Google-Fu, I've found the author of EdSet, Ed Mackey, on twitter: https://mobile.twitter.com/emackey . He also did the Megaball series with his brother Al. If anyone is thinking of reviving EdSet, he might still have his source code around somewhere.

I've thiught about creating a modern editor for pc to allow editing of amiga save files. Could literally have the game gfx represented properly.

The issue as always is time

A modern editor would be really neat. With all the tools around nowadays it's easier to prototype something quite quickly, but it all still takes time.

I created a short guide with screenshots:
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=102612

Mainly this was just an excuse to load the editor up again I could never find screenshots of EdSet online so hopefully Google will index and make these easier to find.
