No, it wasn't Mega Phoenix :/ But huge thanks to everyone here so far, I'm really glad that you have been willing to help. Of course if the game that I'm looking for was a public domain game (I wouldn't have known that back then when I played it), it can be really difficult to find s:

Can you remember if the background was simple black or did it have graphics?
Did it vertically scroll? Was it simultaneous two player? Cooperative? Could the ship(s) move around the screen or was it a fixed position? Anything which you felt was a distinguishing feature? Great music on the intro? Or while playing? No music, just sound fx? |

Sorry, it wasn't Motorola Invaders s: And I didn't find it here: http://www.lemonamiga.com/games/list...ace%20Invaders
I think that the background of the game was just simply black or at least it was like that most of the time. It's also possible that it could have been played in a cooperative way by 2 players, but I'm not sure because we never tried that. I'm pretty sure though that it was indeed a vertical scroller and that the ship could be moved around the screen. Too bad that I don't really remember anything about the music, but I don't think it was anything very special or great I also don't remember any very distinguishable features...most of my (pretty blurry) memories of this game are focused around the intense firerate of your ship's guns and how the enemies were sometimes wildly blinking in different colors s: |

Could be XP8 maybe? http://hol.abime.net/1613
Though this was late in the Amiga's commercial life. Came out in 1996. Can you be a little bit more precise about the year you played it? Early 90's, mid 90's, late 80's etc. |

Sorry, still haven't seen the right one here s: I don't remember the year exactly, but I don't think that it would really help much in this case, because me and my brother got Amiga (with a huge set of games) as a hand-me-down from our cousins and the year must have been at least '97 or '98.

I more and more wonder if your recollection of this is correct, perhaps it wasn't at all an Amiga. It'd be hard to tell :/
What's your brother's input on this? he could help. |

I'm starting to doubt my recollection as well /: But I'm still fairly certain that I would have recognized the game right when I would have come across it here. My brother couldn't recall anykind of space shooter game though, when I asked him s:
