I was playing again today and lost quite a few lives for stupid reasons. I found the magical door on lvl 48 and ended up with 48 lives, but my final score was 8,582,200. An improvement on my previous score, but not enough to topple you from first place... yet

@lifeschool: I have confirmed no door on lvl 33. Edit: and a door on lvl 24.

@ Lonewolf: I can confirm no doors on 15 or 29, and im almost sure I remember getting the bonus on 31 and being disappointed it wasnt 32, so I'm pretty sure thats gone too. If you lay the levels out 10 levels per row, it looks like there may be a door on 16.

I wanted to try this out to quantify the possible bonus points you can get with autofire.

On every level I did my best to kill everything but 1 enemy, and leech points from it with autofire as long as possible. One second of autofire gives about 130 points. I could do it for about 20 seconds tops before the ghosts come in and it isn't profitable to risk it, as one life costs 100k.

So every level this way gives about 2600 points, which totals to about 100k by the end of the game, which I think is insignificant.

Tip: kill lots of non-snowballed enemies with one snowball to gain more extra lives.

I posted this on Lemon a few days ago, but for those that don't venture into enemy waters...

The problem is you have very little time to get there

See the image below, where the area you need to get into to activate the hidden life has been marked with a red box.

Stimraug, do you know what the ST score represents? (press Space Bar during gameplay to show/hide ST score)

For those that wondered what the "no door" and "door" comments between myself and lifeschool are all about, here is the answer: between us we have been confirming which levels do and don't have secret doors that appear if you kill all baddies using one snowball.
Here is where we are at thus far (this was posted on Lemon yesterday):

Code:
X=No door      /=Door       ?=Possible

01 X 11 X 21 X 31 41 /
02 X 12 / 22 ? 32 / 42 X
03 / 13 X 23 X 33 X 43 X
04 X 14 / 24 / 34 X 44 X
05 X 15 X 25 35 X 45
06 X 16 26 ? 36 X 46
07 X 17 X 27 X 37 X 47
08 / 18 X 28 X 38 ? 48 /
09 X 19 X 29 X 39 49 X
10 X 20 X 30 X 40 X 50 X

You asked, I brought it. After days of trying (and much shouting at the game!) I finally got the run to end all runs...

0,633,560 after lvl 10 boss & 14 lives...
0,941,300 after lvl 20 boss & 20 lives...
1,294,210 after lvl 30 boss & 22 lives...
1,877,090 after lvl 40 boss & 31 lives...
2,300,730 at lvl 50 boss & 66 lives (thanks to lvl 48 door and lives bonuses)...

...final score (*drum roll*)... 10,918,720!

Ah, well done and congratulations.

I see your excellent score and raise you my ace-in-the-sleeve i've been aching to reveal.

Wanted to screenshot the 48 secret room situation after collecting all the lives. It is a culmination of killing a handful of non-snowballed enemies with one snowball and not dying, could finally pull it off pretty consistently, which I'm proud of.

Which leads me to..

(I'm tired of cropping pics for the attachment size requirements, so here are the links)

12 939 840

EDIT: I don't know what ST score is, sorry.

Great pic of lvl 48 bonus area... I am in the process of making one big picture containing all the doors and bonus areas that myself and lifeschool have found so far (except lvl 41, as I have no pics of that yet).

Edit: Thanks for that lifeschool I think there are 2 more doors to find.

Edit2: For those that want the spoilers, here's a link to a large picture (582x1914) showing the location of most of the secret doors and bonus areas (I will clean up and alter the image as necessary over the next few days, but the link will remain the same so feel free to bookmark it ):

- how do you get from the pit in level 32 if there are no enemies left? Impossible? Except green ghost, of course.

Hehe. I'm not sure I can get much closer to his score either

You need one enemy left to be able to get out of the pit. I have activated the door many times and have blown good runs by forgetting to JUMP after kicking the snowball (otherwise it rebounds and takes you to the pit...).

I said I didn't think I could beat it, but I haven't given up yet

For all interested, I have confirmed there is another secret door on level 31.

Anyone having any luck emulating using adfs?

I one linked in the OP has too many problems to mention.

I tried one in Lifeschool's zip in the Zone and the graphics got corrupt after the first boss.

Just tried a different one and the game reset after the third boss.
