MacUAE is it good at the emulation of an Amiga ?
Can somebody, tell me if the MacUAE (the Amiga emulator for Macintosh) is good as the WinUAE version ?
Have you test it ? While i whas looking for the infos on the Macintosh computer (look very attractive and powerfull, and up-to-date high-tech hardware), i have seen that there are an Macintosh version of WinUAE at this url: http://www.emulation.net/amiga/ and the MacUAE homepage is : http://worldserver.oleane.com/ablancha/ If you have a Mac, this is more interesting than a wintel computer for using the Amiga emulator. I find the PowerMac more and more interesting and the software for the Macintosh seem pretty good too Maybee if i wait one year or two, i can buy one for swap it with my pc wintel |

Well ...
... Seeing as it a version that was released over 2 years ago (Guessing) it won't be as good as (Win)UAE as greater compatability (With some games) and extra features has been added since then, but there are benefits, not using Windows being the best one
The choice is yours, personally I'd prefer to use an up-to-date emu, rather than not using Windows. |

I wouldn't hold your breath ...
... He's using the source from WinUAE (A mistake) 0.8.14r3 (An even bigger mistake)
He should us the main UAE source (Sure it's got bugs, but it hasn't got any Brain King specials in there) |

I'd say UAE's code could easily be ported to OS X since it has possix APIs.
Maverick, I see you really are considering a Mac Personally I jumped boat because the Macintosh is the ideal platform for what I do, it's got great power and it looks good. And let's not forget, it's a Motorola Inside machine! :laugh Fred, clue me up and shout me the names of the best Mac emus around. I know Power64 is THE BEST C64 emu you can get, on any platform. Anything other recommendations? (btw, get rid of that toilette lid and get a REAL mac ) |

Toilet lid? LOL..I love it. I cannot afford a G4 right now, in a year I will be basking in Mac glory. For now this nifty iBook will do.
I still have my 540 powerbook ..7 years old, and still an amazing machine. It blew away the competition back then, and I swear, tho I maxed out the specs (know ya hate specs Akira), it gave the Dells and vaios and such a run for the money until a year or 2 ago! Akira, the most elegant and beautifully organized site for Mac emulation is here.... www.emulation.net Power 64 is a superb C 64 enu. Frodo is good too. The Broken Windoze emus cannot hold a candle to them. MacUAE as you know is adequate, but honestly has fallen behind. Nostalgia, the Atari St emu, spits in the face of Winston and Pacifier in terms of stability and compatability. Console emus? Every serious NES freak knows iNES is incredibly well designed and stable. Very compatable. TG -16 emulation is lacking...Dgen and Macgen were very slow when i had them on my Powerbook (183 MHZ), you need a G3 at least. On my iBook..juuuust swell! There...I have much more to tell if you wish. But The above site By Mr. stiles is far better than I can ever do |

Akira:
Yes, i am very interested now with the Macintosh, i have read and looking for informations trough the internet about the Mac. Some fan site of the mac have explain why i must choose a Mac and not a pc wintel. And they have right for all things that they have write about wintel against Macintosh. When i have read the technical data specification for the PowerMac G4... Woaw, very impressive. In fact, all what you buy appart for the pc is in standard shipped with the PowerMac and for a better quality on the Mac too. The prize of this PowerMac is then not too much for this GREAT QUALITY. In fact, the Mac have the best quality/prize than the wintel computer for a perfect stability/easy to use (like the worbench) system. Can i say that the PowerMac IS what Amiga will be if he whas not dead ? I suppose that all Amiga lovers have buying an Mac and not an wintel PC ? Yes Akira, the Macintosh seem to be the best platform for all what i want to do. Personnaly, i don't need to be Pc/wintel compatible. I just need to have a GOOD, STABLE, and EASY TO USE computer. I have a good knowledge of programming, and of the hardware/software of the pc, and that is why i say that the Pc wintel is never been the computer solution. Too bad that the marketing from Microsoft take away a lot of people from this powerfull Macintosh computer. fredtgreat: Yes, fredtgreat, this is a great site for emulation I find it yesterday, in the night while i whas looking for informations about the Mac. They have all emulators that i need: Amiga, spectrum, nes/Snes, C64 and Atari. For retro-gaming on the Mac, there will never a problem Mmmmmh, i like the Mac |
