A1200 + Blizzard 1260 + Blizzard SCSI + ACard + CF test setup
Perhaps pointless post but it works (~7.5MB/s transfer rate)
Next task: build better and shorter cable.. |

Excellent work Toni!
We now have up to date confirmation that the Acard SCSI - IDE bridge adapters work with CF on SCSI chains. Post your intent to buy one from AmigaKit here: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=39121 |

What SCSIDE are you using? Any chance that the case will close? I was hoping to find one of the OEM 2.5/3.5" chassis models but haven't seen one in a while. There is a Japanese SCSI-CF that is in a 2.5" SCSI form factor that looks good, but would need an even more custom cable or an adapter.
I'm working on making a cable myself now. Planning on doing the Blizzard SCSI -> 50 PIN (maybe two for future use) -> 50 PIN SCSI-2 External. Main problem is time. |

That's pretty convoluted. How fast is a CF card connected to the 1200's IDE controller? I suppose this method utilizes less CPU? I don't know how smart the Blizzard SCSI add-ons are.

@Toni
Can the acard adapter fit in there with the case closed? I take it that was your point in testing this (or otherwise possibly just for kicks). May need to get the 50pin version for this. @gklinger Blizzard SCSI kit utilises DMA, so yes. |

Hrm. Now you've got me thinking I should get a Blizzard SCSI (impossible though that might be) because the relatively slow access of my CF card is bugging the heck out of me.

Convoluted though this setup may be you are getting three times the throughput and a fraction of the CPU usage? Wow. Now I'm really impressed.
Could you post more pictures, please? I would like to see exactly how you've got that all hooked up. TIA. |

CF-IDE adapter and ACard separately and another alternate angle shot. Hope this helps.

Toni, why have you move the jumpers from the default? No ID 6, no termination, no terminator power? I just got the same setup and am wondering if the defaults might be non-good.
