Even though I don't understand why ALT-TAB works like "Cancel" on the GUI, restoring emulation running in bg but switching to Windows desktop at the same time (!?). I expected Windows to simply pass to the next app with no consequence on WinUAE status.

I use:
Pri & Ext > When inactive: disable game controller, > When minimized: pause emu and disable sound.
Misc: Don't show notification icon, Minimize when focus is lost.

Could you be more specific? ALT-TAB when moving to/from fullscreen will exit GUI because GUI can't "follow" it.

If you set Miscellaneous: Minimize when focus is lost, then call GUI with F12, and at this point ALT+TAB, you'll switch to Windows desktop as expected but WinUAE will be iconified AND RUNNING in background (= unexpected dismissed GUI and restored emulation).

But maybe this is by design and unavoidable?
When using ALT+TAB after F12 I expected it to simply get iconified and paused as specified on Pri & Ext (When minimized). What's strange for me is that emulation is restored in background with iconified WinUAE.

Great! Works exactly as I expected now. I can ALT+TAB with F12 GUI and emu won't resume, but I can also switch to Windows desktop during emu (ALT+TAB directly) and WinUAE will be paused as expected

Hi Toni,
bad news: today re-tested this old bug with 4.0.1b1, 2, 3, 4 and was able to reproduce it again! Even with RTG Multitreaded OFF!
Unticking MISC > Shared Clipboard before I start emulation actually solves the bug.
