A new interview is online today, this time it's John Croudy, the other half of the Sales Curve/Storm's great programming team! Enjoy...

There's a small interview with Bobby Earl, the programmer of Hook now on my website. I haven't had a reply for a couple of months regarding the Dune 2 questions I sent so I'm just going to publish it as it stands.

Marc Djan is the latest to answer some questions about Ocean France including why so many games were never released. The interview started off well but he abruptly stopped answering questions when I mentioned the Ocean Experience forum where Gary Bracey said that they were always late with their games.

Anyway there is some very interesting stuff about conversion rights! Enjoy...

Some pretty interesting stuff as usual.

Did you have free reign over it? How long did it take to do?

I had total free reign, it was the most fun I had making games. The limitations of the time forced you to be very imaginative.
Should it not be "free rein" (equitation analogy)? I think it is the correct English expression.

Actually I always thought "rein" was to do with equestrian/horses etc and "reign" is the king/power type. Hence free reign in my question was "nobody had any power over you" so I used the "reign" version. But if others think I'm wrong, I'll happily change it!

Yet another amazing interview. I don't know how you find these people (and get them to talk!).

Brilliant. Will give this a plug on the blog (then on Facebook, Twitter and g+) tomorrow.

Free "rein" is the correct expression in all contexts. This is because if you give a horse "free rein", then your'e not exerting any control over him.

Next up is the interesting story behind the game Lion King. Dave Semmens was the programmer responsible, and the task he faced creating the Amiga version was enormous given the time!

Read the interview with Dave Semmens.

I guess we should ask him if he still have the 2 missing levels, in order to implement them no ?

I like these interviews a lot, and the ones on amigapd.com as well. A bit lengthy sometimes, but lots of interesting insight.
