Blizzard 1230 III CPU change?
Hey all
I did do a search but couldn't really find anything, I was just wondering, is it possible to change the CPU on this card/any other cards? I was looking through AmigaKit and noticed this: http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...roducts_id=113 My card has an 030 atm. This is purely just out of curiosity... although it would be a cool project. |

I believe it's possible but 030 CPU's cost a fortune.
EDIT: ah you meant a 040 cpu, that I really don't know... Last edited by Bamiga2002; 14 November 2011 at 14:51. Reason: read link |

You can swap in another 030 if you like.. Probably pointless.

you can put another 030 in it,but not an 040.
there not pin for pin the same im affraid. plus i think the blizzard you have only goes to 40mhz.you may be able to get a 50mhz 030 but the increase in speed will be minimal. and remember you will have to change the oscillator to use the new 030 at 50mhz Last edited by roy bates; 14 November 2011 at 15:39. |
