Sonnet 7200 PCI programming

You're talking about Hyperion's launch gui? Or are you using Cowcat's version?



How about trying something like WarpSNES, that's AHI based and runs well on the Killer NIC and it's somewhat of a canary in a mine, if that works then most things should (not counting Warp3D).

Hyperions, although I have downloaded Cowcats newest beta from his thread also Will need to give it a go too.

No, no, sorry I made a mistake. WarpSNES only works with Paula as AHI device 0, don't waste your time on that one. I forgot the unique requirements of the A1200 version.

Unless something changed, Cowcat does not recommend using Hyperion's GUI with his version, perhaps that has changed.

If you're using Hyperion's version hitting save or use should launch with the options you select. Just remember to set AHI rather than Paula.

Yeah, that's what I've set it for. Software rendering with fullscreen ticked, AHI and no cd-audio ticked, and have set it to 320x240.

I also tried renaming the videos folder and creating an empty one with the right name. Doesn't play the intro now, but doesn't load the game either. Still locks up on that screen!

I'll continue to prod it tomorrow

Been trying to get Quake 2 going again (Hyperion version still). I get the ahi initialisation stuff in the console, and I get sound in the menu as I move around and select things - so not sure AHI is the issue? But it still hangs at a black screen as soon as I try to start a game.

So I updated to the latest sonnet build, and we have a change! When I try to start a game now I get the same black screen, but then after a pause I get returned to workbench with a message:

"PPC timed out while waiting on 68k"

I have no idea if that helps explain anything or not

QuakeWOS is still working fine, as is WarpAMP. About to have a go with PrBOOM now

@indigolemon Try with my BlitzQuake version: Follow the readme and launch it from a shell with -ahi command (if not, it goes to paula mode).

Hi, i bought Sonnet 7200 for my A4000D. I have clean install of AmigaOS 3.9 + Mediator SW and powerpc.library. But i must run PPCinit before using PPC software, when i have intiPPC in ss the system is unstable. Does MMU.lib fixs it? Also i cant get BlizQuake to run. It freezes on quake screen with console. Sometimes it's startup normally and its run for 2-3 mins. Also should i add Sound Blaster 128 to system? I have one somewhere.

Remember you need to add InitPPC before AddDataTypes.

Run >NIL: <NIL: C:InitPPC
