Building a A3660 kit

Hi,

New to this place, new to building electronics but eager to learn!

I bought an A3660 rev 1.1 kit on AmiBay and have just completed building it and need some assistant fault tracing whats wrong with it.

It runs pretty unstable and sometimes (not every time) it hangs during cpu card onboard memory check in diagrom. Left mouse to skip is ok.
It random keeps crashing/freezing in diagrom as well. Running Whichamiga freezes it instantly every time.
Same behavior in two different amigas.
Running it without any expansions.
Using a patched kickstart when running WB.

One thing that puzzles me is that when I tried using an 040, moving the 'jumper' to 040 mode, removed the voltage regulator and wired input to output that made a short between ground and +5v when cpu was in socket?

Have been over the soldering multiple times...

Starts every time but is super super unstable.
Often gets more than finger warm when crashing, tried using a fan to cool it but no difference...

Any ideas on how to go on?

Running it without the reset GAL seem to make it run for a much longer time before freezing.
And it becomes slooooooow...
But still have shown one occurence of freeze...
