It seems the counter for the keys kickstarter is starting to get just as confused as we are about its launch... Launch on October 21st, counter says still 4 days to go.... ?????
I think they'd better decided on a more realistic launch date further in the future in the first place, than keep postponing it once or twice a week... However, I'm very happy the cases are really nearing completion now. And of course new keys and some nicely build odd colored LEDs which I hope to get via a1k.org will make for some nice looking machines!! |

Not much of a surprise, he's stated several times that he won't launch the keycaps kickstarter until the cases have entered mass production...
Won't be long now I'm sure. |

Well, then don't start a countdown, unless you're 100% sure...

Okay, great. So there will be new cases available. I thought that there weren't going to be any more new cases.
I want to participate in the keycaps kickstarter, but only if I can get my hands on a new case as well. It's very confusing with all the separate initiatives that are out of stock or not yet available if you're not quick. Cases/keycaps, motherboards/accelerators, etc. Especially if you've been out of the scene for a while. But great that they exist of course. |

I'm sure the cases will become available through retail channels once the cases enter mass production and start shipping.

Some not so wild rumors say that a couple of backers did kind of bulk orders.. So there will be cases for sale, just not sure what the upper limit is so they might not last very long?

Lets not create any false rumours based on pure speculation. We know that the official partners like Amigastore.eu will have cases and we now have the equipment to produce more when required (Which was the whole point of the Kickstarter campaign in the first place.), I'm sure Phillippe can give us the true picture.

Towards the end of the campaign, small increases in number of backers generated quite large amount of cash so you can draw your own conclusions about how that happened. ;-) Skickat från min LG-H850 via Tapatalk |

I have to say that the cases pictured do not appear to be of equal quality to the Commodore produced cases. The plastic looks like it's much cheaper.
Will the final product be the same as the pictures? |

That's most likely due to colour and picture/camera quality. We've seen the same anticipations before the shipment of the C64-cases. No one complained afterwards.

I see nothing wrong with the quality of the case in this photo. On close up it looks great And let's remember these are prototypes, test runs, not final product. |
