WinUAE random crash

My winuae started randomly crashing for no reason (even with a basic WB3.0 disk).

Screenshot attached along with logs.

It seems to do this on all winuae versions I have tested, including the latest beta, and seems to do it with all configs tried.

Maybe not emulation, maybe my system but unsure as nothing has changed!

Bit of testing.

Started off with a basic 1200 setup and WB boots.

Then started adding hardfiles etc and get HALT1 regularly. I then set JIT, changed CPU etc and it started crashing.

Seems I cannot boot much of anything atm!

Since you get the problem with several WinUAE versions and configs it sounds like it's your system, maybe memory or driver problems?

No.

I have now narrowed it down to a couple of my hardfiles, I have it running now with a diff hardfile.

Maybe that one is corrupt, but is still odd. I need to test more

Some Amiga executable crashes ("did something terribly stupid" = program execution jumped to non-existing memory, UAE converts this to bus error exception)

Debugger shouldn't open unless debugger has been used previously in same WinUAE session. But at least WinUAE isn't crashing.

Re: WinUAE random crash

When I closed debugger winuae force closed.

Any idea how this has corrupted the hardfile?

Closing debugger kills whole emulator. Don't do it, just type g<return> (but I am still wondering why does it open..)

FFS (if used) can easily get corrupted if system is reset before all buffered data has been written to the disk.

I don't recommend hardfiles when doing development

Toni,

A hardfile for the system and a Windows directory for storage for the executables is ok, I presume? At least I haven't had any hickups yet, not that many gurus meditating either
