Not used AIAB in depth because as far as I'm aware AIAB is a set of programs to make the Amiga Workbench look

I have WinUAE (version 1.2.0) installed but the simplest way to add an hdf file:

1) Load WinUAE
2) Go to the Configurations Tab
3) Click once on ROM 3.1, 68020, JIT, TCP/IP, 10 MB, sound, no GUI in list of configurations.
4) Click Load
5) Go to the Hard Drive Tab
6) There you'll see a list of mounted devices (DH0:, DH1:, etc.)
7) Click on Add Hardfile
8) In the Hardfile Settings window, click on the rectangle with dots in it (to the right of Path box)
9) Locate your hdf file and open it. Back on the Hardfile Settings Window, click OK.
10) Now click Start.

If Amiga workbench loads, you should see your hdf game title icon. Double click on it and away you go.

Some games like Slam Tilt, bypass Workbench (start automatically), where others, ie, Monkey Island will go to Workbench first.

Note: The above is just purely to go about getting hdf files to work. There are other things you may need to do - like alter Configurations, CPU, RAM, Display adjustments, etc, etc. within WinUAE, but these are covered in great detail elsewhere in FAQ and threads. Anything AIAB (forums) related can also be found here

If you can let me know exactly what hdf files you have I might be able to help with creating a config file for you

"ROM 3.1, 68020, JIT, TCP/IP, 10 MB, sound, no GUI " is the name of the default config in Amiga Forever. In AIAB the default config is called "AIAB_Default" or something like that. You should load it first, then you can switch to the HDD tab and should see the System and Work directories.
