WinUAE 0.8.27

WinUAE 0.8.27 released. http://www.winuae.net/

Bugs in 0.8.26 fixed:

- JIT-only crash when loading state file or loading new config on the fly
- crash when loading config and directory or no config file was selected
- ports-page uninitialized joystick/mouse radio buttons
- ignore files not having .uae-extension when scanning configuration file directory
- GUI works now with non-96DPI fonts
- possible crash when starting emulator or inserting/ejecting disks
- JIT compatibility problems with some games (for example
Alien Breed 3D II)
- debugger am-command
- "Priority=2!"-debug dialog
- disk image path/name text input

Older bugs fixed:

- centering improved
- hardfile error "tried to seek out of bounds"-message when hardfile was too small or blocksize was set to zero
- fullscreen D3D/OpenGL-mode ALT-TAB
- fixed forever repeating "...because desktop is too small for the specified window size.."
- saving config: always add (if missing) ".uae"-extension to config file name
- "exter_int_helper: unknown native action xxx"

New features:

- new rtg.library, 20-30 times faster Picasso96 pixel read
- don't add contents of zip file to disk history if zip only contains one supported disk image file
- compatibility fix for buggy programs that access non-existing memory in CIA address space
- MIDI can be selected without serial port
- full collision level implemented correctly (game "Rotor")
- AVIOutput tweaks
- improved compatibility (Back in Bizness, Total Triple Trouble)

Also looking on the UAE Discussion Board I see Peter Hutchison has released a new winuae.chm help file.

Download: Latest WinUAE.chm v1.9.3 Help File!

Quick save state function displays a message that says "WARNING: State saves do not support harddrive emulation." but that message pops under the emulator,(d3d-radeon card) forcing me to alt tab, rendering the "quick" part of the save function useless. In any case it's enough to have this warning only once isn't it? ("don't show this message again" thing)

Excellent stuff!

WinUAE is close to perfection now, IMHO, particularly since we got the new GUI!
What are the short and long term plans for it from this point on, just out of interest?

This certainly seems a lot faster! I'm intrigued to know what the differences are, is it a recent modification specifically for WinUAE? Whatever it is, it's a welcome speed improvement!

Great work Toni! Thank you.
The best WinUAE release ever.

Just wanted to post a bug report
But then I updated the rtg.library from 0.8.25 to the new 0.8.27 one.
And now it's running fine

I really don't know
Most Picasso96 improvements are done by Bernd Roesch.

ok, dialog should appear in front but why are you even trying to save states with harddisks? Loading them will only crash the Amiga quite soon..

Main goal is perfect A500 timing. CPU and blitter needs to be more cycle-exact, especially linedraw mode (problem with some demos/intros) but nobody seems to know how line-mode's DMA accesses really happen..

Other plans: more GUI updates, full separation of host and Amiga hardware configuration, "beginner"/"advanced"-GUI modes.

One word: WHDLoad

And it saves/loads with no problems in game because hard drives aren't really used once you preload the disks.

At least it should die after exiting the game or next time the game loads from HD.. (of course most games probably preload everything)

btw, why didn't anybody complain earlier? This message has been there since 0.8.23..
