Dino Dini to attend the Kick Off 2 World Cup in Milan!
This year the 12th Kick Off 2 World Cup will take place in November 17-18 in Milan, Italy. As always, more than 40 players from several European countries will compete in their favorite Amiga game. Although Steve Screech who is a regular attendee will not make it this time, Dino Dini will make an appearance and witness his legacy go on 22 years later first hand.
The medals: The players in last year's competition (Birmingham): All goals in World Cup finals: Wish me luck boys. |

That is fantastic especially as this sort of thing should confirm I think to Dino Dini that despite a smaller appreciation for KO compared to Sensi, KO is the better game for a lot of folk
And I don't mean to stir any Sensi vs Kick off arguments but I've played both games enough to realise that Sensi despite being a lot of fun, doesn't really have anything on Kick Off2. It's a credit though to both that these are the only Football games I go near these days |

Tons of footage!
[ Show youtube player ], this is the second leg of my semi final against Andy (England). I had lost the first match 8-5 so I needed a four goal win. |

Superb - some great goals scored there - I love the subtle little pass backs to the Keeper on occasion - not allowed today of course - I miss this old time wasting tactic!
I just hope that the score line isn't similar at Old Trafford today - come on you Gunners, lets keep it down to under 8 this time!! I will have to dig out KO2 again and get in some practice - forgotten how good it was - have to give my Brother a game when he visits at Xmas. I love those big screen events - I went to two Amiga meetings in the nineties where there was a similar Sensible Soccer compo - I think both events were run by SEAL - one in Basildon the other in Banstead in Surrey - there was no Youtube in those days - don't think even cameras had gone digital so there is no footage of our games - I was well and truly hammered at Sensi on both occasions so best forgotten perhaps... Anyway, cheers for the clip and good luck in the next competition! |

Yeah we get that a lot from people who watch from a safe distance. And then when they're asked to put their money where their mouth is, they come to a World Cup and lose most matches by double figures.
A big part of playing an important game is anhilating the opponent's style of play, so don't be surprised if you don't see the ease of scoring you get when playing against the Amiga. The 50 people in the room screaming at the top of their lungs are not helping either. Since you are in Italy, why don't you come to Milan in two weeks and show us how it's done? You can still register if you like. In the meantime, here are two more videos that perhaps you will appreciate more: [ Show youtube player ] [ Show youtube player ] |

Good luck Alkis for this World Cup !!
I'm always really amazed by the great games played in this event and i like really looking the video in youtube !! To me the only missing thing in KO2 CV is the bicycle kick , it's why i prefer playing the Ko2 FWCV by J.Wilson. Well i hope we will see a nice video with you playing the final |

No offense taken. As I've said many times I love both games anyway, SS as a single player game and KO2 against other people.
In all seriousness, a Kick Off 2 World Cup is not unlike real football world cup: You don't always see the most spectacular matches in the important games. Too much at stake (I know 7 billion people don't care, but still, we do...) results to too much anxiety. Consequently, that's me shouting like an idiot in a foreign language during the final 80 seconds of the first video above. |

Every year the same story. Can't you let me enjoy my competition without the never ending discussions about which game is better than the other game?

Hello guys. As always, the event was a huge success and we all had a fantastic time. The trophy went to the Danish Dagh Nielsen who beat the Italian Gianluca Troiano in the final, while last year's winner Gianni Torchio settled for third place.
The three of them are the best players who have ever played the game as they have won eight out of the twelve world cups, and it was the first time they all attended the same one so there was little chance for everyone else. Here we are all, 40 players: And here is me (on the left) playing with Dino Dini: Dino not only attended, but he also participated as a player in the two-day marathon and was very kind and patient meeting with everyone, answering questions and signing autographs non-stop. As my joystick, for instance: For more pictures, check out my album. |
