Which Amiga magazine would you say is most reliable for reviews?

As per the title, it's multiple choice too. Oh and it's public.

EDIT: Really didn't know where to post this so please feel free to move it if it's in the wrong section.

To be honest most UK magazines weren't great at reviews. They all seem to have been influenced by "outside factors", whatever they were at the time

Amiga power back in the day. Seems the most accurate for me with the least bias.

Too bad Amiga Joker was German only. Except for the name, most of the reviews were spot on

Polish mags Gambler and Amiga Computer Studio. You can not trust reviews from Top Secret and Secret Service. I can not specify exactly why, you need to read some of them.

I always thought Amiga Shopper had excellent reviews. My vote is one of the "other" votes.

CU Amiga i seem to recall being overly influeneced, especially in the late days.

Amiga Format probably for me, but Amiga Power did right great reviews, which sometimes you did, sometimes you didnt agree with.

Rise of the Robots ratings:

Amiga Action 92%
CU Amiga 80%
Amiga Power 5%

That sums it up for me

Generally I think the reviews were pretty good, although the reviewers seemed to be convinced they were "young soul rebels" and I think that sometimes afftected their objectivity. On the whole I preferred to read the One which gave you a good idea what to expect from a game without being as opinionated as Amiga Power - who were also a bit fixated on "cutesie" games like Rainbow Islands.

They didn't "bought" Amiga Power?

I agree. Vastly overrated crappy Action Games, too many underrated RPG/Strategy/Simulation games. But i think some French magazines were even worser.

I only bought Amiga Shopper every month, which was a great mag for me. After it folded i started to buy Amiga Format, but it was not the same thing.

Amiga Power without a shadow of a doubt. They wrote the truth and annoyed a lot of developers as I recall

I thought they were all a good read tbh.... I was a monthly CUAmiga reader

.. no, I didnt buy Rise of the Robots
..... but its incredible how such a naff game got to be a household name

but the writeup in Amiga Power on Lotus 2 was AMAZING.... It was written by a member of Sensible Software I think ;-)
