Just being (a little)pedantic, but if you think the game is too slow (IN EMULATION)...

Try altering a few settings, you never know..............

It run perfect in emulation if you set:
  • CPU = 68020
  • Chipset = AGA ("Cycle-exact" unticked)

I've never used FS-UAE but I'd imagine the same settings would work.

That's amazing work done. Respect. I remember playing it on Atari 65XE but never finished, music was so creepy it still bangs in my head.

I clean forgot that this would be big news for a few people here. I added d/l links to the HOL entry yesterday for the fully-installed WHDLoad version of Starquake. Thank you very much Bertrand () for the patch (and Retroplay for uploading!)....here's the d/l link for anyone wanting to get their grubby little mits on it without having to use the WHD installer:

I think Predseda means to thank you Bertrand since he wasn't able to code the WHD patch himself!

Always good to see someone personally thanking Bertrand and the other WHD patchers for their hard work here! We shouldn't forget Bert's hand in WHDLoad either!! I'm proud to have made contact with such an honourable man and committed member of the Amiga community - back in 1996(?) - after he made the first public release of WHDLoad!!!

If you appreciate the hard work that goes into WHDLoad and the game/demo patches produced, then please consider donating to Bert and his team of patchers to help with the running of the support website + more! It's the least regular users can do since there is no longer a requirement to register.

@NeoHippie
Did you buy the boxed Starquake collector's edition from Psytronik too because of the additional extras (e.g soundtrack CD) it has over the Kickstarter/Fusion Retro Books boxed deluxe edition?!

I would say so considering he says:

To me that means he has the "collector's edition" and the "normal boxed" version

I'm guessing so too! But gee whizz....Psytronik's most recent offerings has brought the number of different commercial releases of Starquake to a grand total of five!!

- budget/premium/collector's edition versions [from Psytronik]
- standard/deluxe editions [from Kickstarter / Fusion Retro Books]

I bought the deluxe version from Fusion over a year ago now and they have since sold out of all their stock of the game. I'm now debating whether to buy the Starquake collector's edition from Psytronik because of some of the snazzy extras like the soundtrack CD (to eventually include scans of them in HOL when I finally get around to pulling my home scanners out of packing boxes once again! ). The other motivation would be to encourage Psytronik to publish more Amiga games since, AFAIR, Starquake is the very first 16-bit game that they have released in their long 27 year history of publishing retro games!!

@DamienD & @DrBong: yep, both Editions have not the same of Gimmicks in it!...

(In "these" days you can find many editions of an article as a Limited Edition, Collectors Edition, Deluxe Edition, and more. Too confusing for everyone )

Whatever, the installer allows me to play the game, cause the trackloader routine is a "No Go" for my disk drive. Otherwise, if it load from Disk, i will hear no Sound of it. (cause of my Hard- & Software config)...
