Voltage ranges are only important when swapping cellphone LEDs, because cell phones usually work at 3,3V or below.

Just about all LEDs have a threshold voltage that is below 5 volts and the Amiga works at 5V TTL levels. Meaning, just buy a LED that fits physically. The current limiting resistors that are in the computer probably don't need to be changed either. Just feel the LED after it's been on a while to see that it doesn't get hot. :-)

The LEDs in the 1200 look proprietary. It must have been cheaper for Commodore to make their LED's themselves than source them off the shelf I guess?

You could always try casting resin around an led, at that price you can afford to have a few mistakes
