On a serious note, I recently restarted the work on the Embryo slave (check WHDLoad site), there's still support for the german version to implement and an access fault in the intro to fix.

Good to hear you're officially still working on it (you said you were in IRC but you told me to keep quiet about it, like a top secret spy or something. I didn't tell anyone I promise.)

If you need any testing (albeit in WinUAE) I should have some time to play this blast from the past.

Can't get this to load using the version from Retroplay (2265), comes up with:

'necesary (sic) file is currupt!!!
'please copy embryo files from original discs etc'

I tried installing from a cracked adf disk set and get the same result, is there anything i'm missing, does this version really work?

Let me guess, you didn't extract the files in an (emulated) Amiga environment?

I did the floppy version and still got the same error, i can't see any file that looks to have been changed, will have to extract the adfs manually and compare that way, unless you know what the culprit is?

Files will not be changed (at least not the content) but file comments need to be intact.

Just extracted the whdload version with a winuae environment and still get the same message, so not sure what's happening, maybe a cd based loading timing error?

It only works if running from a proper Amiga file system.
