Enough with the read receipt stuff...

Can we have a switch to have this off or something? It bothers me that everytime I send a PM it asks me this "read receipt" thing. It might be usefu, sometimes,l but I rather have it as a checkbox below the message edit window rather than this annoying popup that makes me click one more time than I wanted to.

Yeah , it bothers me even more when I get a "Akira read my message" ! I always subconsciously click OK when on EAB.

Yeah, people complained on the other VB3 forums. What another forum did was add a tickbox below the PM box itself for Read Reciept.

would everybody agree to

- either disable this option by default?
- or add an option in UserCP to define its default state?

I have to turn it off on each and every PM I write; IOW: I won't ever need this. Guaranteed

Yes I would be happy with either solution

Well, I don't have time to code a switch in user option and traking don't increase your number of total private message, so why don't you ignore it ?

(Because of course, I'm one of the people who wanna track each read receipt, so "on" by default is the best choice for me)

Agree, it's not bothering in the slightest. You can ignore it perfectly unlike the box that used to appear before.

UNLESS the recipient of my PM does get a read receipt request because I had that option active.
That's what I want to avoid at all costs. Therefore I'd always switch the option off manually before.

???
It won't happened, it's not coded for.
I mean, read receipt are transparents, users doesn't have to do something when they are reading new messages, all tracking options are in background.

OK what's this option useful for then if neither the recipient nor the PM writer gets anything from it?
It's just for the admin then I guess?

@andreas: Have you ever checked the "Track Messages" function in your User CP ? There you can see if the recipient already read the PM or not. If you don't activate that option, the PM will not be tracked. That's all...
